I HELP PEOPLE UNCOVER THEIR TRUE NATURE
Hello, I am Robert Hutchinson, the heart and soul of 'Authentic Life'.
My personal and professional voyage has been profoundly influenced by the Enneagram map of human personality which inspires me to live my personal truth every day.
This shift in self-perception has transformed me into a passionate advocate for authentic self-leadership.

I use this approach quite simply because it works.
So how did my coaching story begin?
My first career was in the dynamic world of broadcast television. In my twenties, I was directing the transmission output for BBC TV channels, a high pressure role that held enormous responsibility and came with plenty of hair-raising moments! Who could forget the thrill of pressing the ‘Play’ button so the whole nation could watch EastEnders?
Later, launching Channel 4’s film channel FilmFour and refining my skills at The Discovery Chanel I learned a lot, not just about TV, but about people and myself. Authentic leadership, I realised, was more about listening and nurturing than directing.
Yet, despite this great career in TV, I felt a disconnect. My relationship with myself had taken a backseat to distractions and diversions. I was living on auto-pilot, bored and tolerating life. I was adrift from my authentic self.
And I felt called to do something else.
It was time to invest my time and energy into creating an authentic life that worked on my terms.
That’s when I took a pause to breathe and recalibrate.
A summer sabbatical in Rome, dog-sitting for a friend, was the perfect catalyst for some soul-searching. Post-sabbatical, I decided to follow my intuition and take a punt on coaching because I always had a passion for understanding the human experience. This turned out to be a good choice.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve delved deep into the realms of self-awareness, ancient wisdom traditions, Eastern philosophy, and the underpinnings of contemporary personal development. This seeking has been more than a personal quest because it forms the foundation of my coaching practice.
I’m curious, caring and empathetic, and I found that I have a talent for getting to the crux of clients' issues, which generates thinking space and clarity for them.
Creating 'Authentic Life' became far more profound than establishing a coaching practice; it was about rediscovering my own identity and purpose in my ability to serve clients powerfully.

And here’s the thing - I'm always learning.

To guide others, I need to keep walking the path myself. And I do. I invest significantly in coaching, professional training, and personal development. Each year, I embark on a major coaching or training adventure, constantly striving to deepen my understanding.

As a creative ideas explorer I regularly attend events around the world with thought leaders and independent thinkers. I feel purpose driven to work with leaders who care about themselves, others, and our shared world - in other words the 'good guys' who love planet Earth because it's the only home we have in outer space.

Has it all been plain-sailing? Certainly not. My journey has included overcoming personal hurdles including addictive behaviours and confidence issues, as well as learning to live with with complex-PTSD, the aftermath of growing up in a psychologically tough family environment.
But has the effort been worth it? Without a doubt, yes! I believe passionately in what I do, having experienced the transformative power of this work.

Join me on this journey towards an Authentic Life. I invite you to embrace your truths, learn from your past, and carve out a meaningful future.
